- The Awakened One is depicted in vajrasana on his double lotiform base, his right hand calling upon the Earth goddess to bear witness to his awakening and victory over Mara.
- Carved wood, red lacquer and gilding.
- Normal wear and tear, concentrated on the lower part of the base.
- Provenance: Personal collection of art dealer Claude de Marteau.
