- Shakyamuni ‘s gaze is realistic, with eyes made from cowrie shells (black-spotted shells), which accentuate the expression of his benevolent, meditative gaze.
- Remnants of glassware can still be seen on the headband underlining his ushnisha.
- This exclusive, authentic piece comes from the estate of dealer and collector Claude de Marteau . It is sold with a certificate of provenance.
- One small gap, due to a period accident: the tip of his monastic robe, on the right, just above the base.
