  • This auspicious animal is associated with Buddhism, and these vessels are entrusted with prayers for rain, fertility, good harvests…
  • The Isan region also produced loom shuttles in a similar style, as it has a strong tradition of textile production.
  • Entirely hand-crafted, the box is both sober and sophisticated in design, like many products of the period, and is both a functional and spiritual object.
  • Provenance: Estate of Asian art dealer and collector Claude de Marteau.

  • The box is in very good condition, the crack at the back is sealed in its lacquer and cannot be opened.
