Vishnu Lakshmi-narayana.
- The eight-armed androgynous form of Vishnu & Lakshmi, known (among others) as Lakshmi-narayana, Vasudeva & Lakshmi .
- Standing in samabhanga. Its right half is that of Vishnu and the left is that of Lakshmi.
- Vishnu: “He who penetrates all”, “He who is omnipresent”. He is associated with the preservation and maintenance of the universe.
- Lakshmi: Means luck or prosperity or wealth. She is the goddess of fortune, prosperity and beauty.
- Narayana means “He who rests the waters” or “Refuge of human beings”, and symbolizes the cosmic aspect of Vishnu as protector and source of all that exists.
- The attributes of Vishnu are clearly represented: chakra (wheel), sankha (conch), gada (mace) and padma (lotus), as are those of Lakshmi: Kalasa (pot), darpana (mirror), saroja (lotus) and pustaka (book).
- The distinctive feature of this image is the hairstyle on Vishnu’s side attached in Jata, which he usually wears in (Tiare) Mukuta.
